FYI - in the 2nd to last version of the script when the snow speeder pilot says "echo base this is rogue 2" a radio transmission comes in and the voice says "echo base this is rogue 2" then they giggle and hang up.. This caused the pilot to turn towards the dark side.

After the high drama of pulling out of spacedock, the battle with the Klingons could hardly compete. The first half of this short was so over-the-top that it neatly undermined the last half. Hyping up something too much does as much damage as not building up a scene. This video is a textbook example of that. Did you really not feel that the whole coming out of spacedock scene was way, way too long, and overdramatized, with all the music and the endless shots of the Enterprise?? Especially for this little film?

This is amazing, with better models it could be undistinguishable from the originals

I wish Adywan released an edit of ESB:R with grey TIEs. I don't know why, but he likes the blue look. 3:52 heh heh.. this is one of the ideas I suggested to him and he constructed: Needa should be at the _front_ of the bridge, not the side window. Ady not only corrected that mistake, but you can see a SD far off on the right closing in on Hoth.

I have 2 favourite classes in this series and they are the Miranda and the Akira class.

I've always looked at it as while watching, your brain knows none of these things are real and they're just effects, so they don't have to be 100% photo realistic or be a completely realistic movement like CGI tries to do. Your brain and imagination fills in the gaps and makes it a "better" effect than CGI. I think when we see CGI, if it's too smooth and polished it jumps out as looking more "fake" because our brain knows none of this real. It's like we're expecting to see flaws. But yeah, if you didn't want to spend a month making a detailed model, these effects here are great.

The missing component to this is dialog from the actors. This is what AI is needed to be used for as far as entertainment goes; giving us added dialog with actors who are no longer with us.

A job genuinely well done. However the trouble i have with these shorts although they are excellent is we're just continuosly rewatching revised versions of what we've seen many times before. What i want to see is new cinematic Star Trek produced by Paramount to the same level of what we once had back in the classic era heyday. with the advantages of todays special effects.
